Pitchfork has announced several of the acts for this year's Festival in Union Park.

Friday, July 18: Incendiary rap group Public Enemy takes the stage for the "Don't Look Back" series (presented by All Tomorrow's Parties). The group will perform its classic album, It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, in its entirety.

Post-punk legends Mission of Burma will also be on hand, playing their 1983 album, Vs.

Saturday, July 19: Animal Collective, Jarvis Cocker, !!!, Vampire Weekend, Dizzee Rascal, No Age, Atlas Sound, Jay Reatard, King Khan and His Shrines, The Ruby Suns, A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Occidental Brothers Dance Band International and Fleet Foxes will perform, among others not yet announced.

Sunday, July 20: Spoon, Dinosaur Jr., Spiritualized, M.Ward, Ghostface and Raekwon, Les Savy Fav, The Apples in Stereo, Boris, Dirty Projectors, Cut Copy, Extra Golden, Dodos, Fuck Buttons and El Guincho will take the stage on Sunday, among others not yet announced.

Thursday, June 5: Guitarist and singer Johnny Winter will make his first appearance at the Chicago Blues Festival since the inaugural event in 1984.  He'll be part of the opening night celebration of Muddy Waters on Thursday, June 5th, sharing the spotlight with "Superharp" James Cotton and others.

Friday, June 6: The Queen of the Blues, Koko Taylor (joined by her Blues Machine) headlines on Friday night, along with a set by Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater. There will also be a tribute to the past with a set featuring Ruby Andrews, Cicero Blake and Jackie Ross.

Saturday, June 7: Buckwheat Zydeco will headline on Saturday. The 60-year-old accordionist will bring one of the classic sounds of New Orleans to the stage. Also appearing that night will be Chicago favorite Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials, the 2007 Band of the Year at the Blues Music Awards.

Sunday, June 8: Just announced to close the festival on Sunday June 8th will be the legendary B.B. King, making his first appearance at the festival in over 20 years. Other headliners on the final night include keyboardist Little Willie Littlefield, guitarist Bobby Parker and vocalist Karen Carroll, who performs with Charlie Love and Lurrie Bell.

The Mayor's Office of Special Events has announced some of the headliners for this year's Jazz Fest.

Thursday, August 28: Saxophone colossus Sonny Rollins opens the festival at 6:30 p.m. at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. One of the pioneers of bebop in the '50s, Rollins is still an inspiration to many jazz artists around the world.

Sunday, August 31: Ornette Coleman, widely known as the creator of "free jazz," will bring his improvisatory saxophone skills to the Petrillo Music Shell as he closes out the festival on Saturday night. Though he's been on the scene for about a half-century, he hasn't lost creative flair; last year's Sound Grammar won a Grammy.
